The 1Up Box of Justice!

The July 2015 1Up Box popped up in the post last week and I completely forgot what the theme of the box was going to be. After a quick look up online I discovered the the box was going to be one of “Justice”. YES! JUSTICE!!

Ok, I’m going to be up front with you. I may have been mistaking in my head ‘justice’ with ‘revenge’. Modern movies, video games and comic books have kind of skewed my view of what one would consider justice.

The Box

Final thoughts

Getting a box like this really makes you take stock in what you’re looking for in a subscription crate. While pulling each item out of the box I started thinking about a few things:

  • There are a lot of ‘original’ pieces in these 1Up Box. In this box alone you have the Princess Leia magnet, stickers.
  • I wonder if they do a lot of these original works because it is easier to pay a designer to create something rather than to license a property.
  • The box is less than $20

All of this culminates into my realization that the contents of this box would appeal to kids, most likely between the ages of 6 and 12. If you’re a parent looking to get something to surprise your child on a regular basis and give them something to look forward to then the 1Up Box is great. The value is spot on at a total cost of about $19.

The joy of getting these boxes is that whenever they arrive the experience is like Christmas or your birthday. You never know what’s inside so you hopefully get a pleasant surprise. Take note that I’m also basing the way I value this box on the fact that little kids don’t know the value of what they’re receiving. If you’re looking for collectibles or something with really deep meaning this isn’t the box for you.

The best way to see how you would value whether or not you would subscribe to this would be to look at the past boxes.
